Asian College of Science and Technolgy (Asian College) first came to existence as the Asian Institute of Electronics (AIE), founded in 1972 by Dr. Constancio A. Sia and his wife, Gloria Durano Sia. Incorporated that same year, AIE tried to fill the demand in high-quality training and education in electronics and technology in the Philippines. It opened its doors to 300 students in 1973, in a few rooms of the Prudential Bank Bldg., in Cubao, Quezon City. AIE was later accredited by the Department of Education, Culture and Sport (DECS) as a full-fledged college, precipitating a change in name to Asian College of Science and Technology (ACSAT).
